What style of photography do you offer?
I am without a doubt a journalistic, or documentary style photographer. I prefer to work as unobtrusive as possible to let your day flow naturally with your own personalities setting the tone for the photographs. The only small exception to this would be a short period of time to capture portraits of the bride, groom and wedding party. I use both natural and artificial light to document your day. When necessary, and allowed, I will use flash to enhance the environment.
How long are you with us?
All day. The specific number of hours really depends on what you want. Once you book a wedding package the entire day is reserved for you. I strongly suggest you have me document your day from the moment you start getting ready until the last guest has said good bye. It isn't rare for me to be with my clients for over 12 hours.
Do you work with a second shooter?
Standard packages include only myself as your primary photographer. However, I do have some pretty awesome second shooters available as an upgrade to any package.
Do you offer engagement sessions?
I do and I think they are incredibly important for all of us. An engagement session is the perfect opportunity to break the ice and give you a sense of what it will be like to work with me, and for me to learn about you.
How do prints work?
Unfortunately, prints are expensive. In order to save you money most of my packages include only digital delivery of your proofs. The exception to this is my Platinum Package, but printed proofs are available with any package as an upgrade.
How many pictures do we get?
Whatever I shoot and I feel is worth keeping during the editing process is what you will get back. This means the specific number varies, but generally speaking expect to get at least 500 pictures back.
Can we keep everything you shoot?
Unfortunately, no. I save and archive your pictures forever. That requires me to have a massive amount of storage on hand - and backed up. In order to make that process as efficient as possible I sort through every single photograph I shoot and permanently delete anything that isn't worth keeping. Examples of what would be permanently deleted are shots of people blinking, out of focus, someone walked in front or the flash didn't fire.
How long does it take to get our pictures back?
Generally 8 weeks.
What kind of equipment do you use?
Professional grade Canon bodies, lenses and lighting - all with back up.
Do you have insurance?
Absolutely. When you book your date with me I will provide a certificate of insurance for your specific venue.
What is the payment schedule?
Payment schedules are very flexible - Generally speaking, there is a down payment to reserve the date and then 2 or 3 balance payments.
What if you can't make our wedding?
I have never missed a wedding - ever. However, my membership with multiple, extensive wedding photographer networks puts endless resources at my fingertips. If the once in a lifetime situation came up where I died and could not shoot your wedding (because otherwise I will be there) - a perfectly capable photographer will be ready to document your day.
